New artists Join Pyramid

One key component to having a successful music career is to have a strong, supportive network behind you.  Local company Pyramid Entertainment has been creating such a framework to aid in the development of emerging and established artistes for the past fourteen years. During that time, they have become one of the leading artiste management multimedia entertainment companies in the Caribbean. To ensure their success, the company is always scouting new talent to bolster their already star studded line-up. Their roster includes some of the most successful artistes locally and regionally. Among those represented are Biggie Irie, Peter Ram, Lil Rick and Philip 7 with his band Masala. Vincentian superstar Skinny Fabulous and his countryman Hypa 4000, are also on their team. Soca diva Jadine of Montserrat and Guyanese Timeka Marshall were the lone females. However they will have some company with two newly signed artistes. They have become the regional booking agent for local rising star Joaquin Brewster and sweet singing Anguillan Shereena ‘Shea Shea’ Richardson.

Although Barbadians may not be familiar with Shea Shea the artiste is working hard to change that and she is confident that joining forces with the agency is the logical progression to attaining that goal. The eye- catching songstress is well loved in her hometown, but she firmly believes that the time is right for her to spread her wings beyond those shores. She shared, “As an emerging soca artiste it is extremely important to me that I align myself and create partnerships with forward moving dynamic companies that have proven track records of success. She added, “Pyramid caught my attention when I realized that they share the same passion and vision that I’ve always had for my career.”

Joaquin has been steadily making strides in the entertainment industry. Although he has released several tracks the one that catapulted him unto more people’s radar was the 2016 release “This Place”. The success of this track also saw him advancing to the finals of the Sweet Soca competition.  Despite his youth his experience is enviable. Being the lead singer for the Legend 246 band he has also had the opportunity to perform with Kirk Brown and the Energy band. The dynamic performer is now sharing the role as lead singer with Edwin Yearwood and Khiomal Nurse for the legendary band Krosfyah and has also been performing with the Arturo Tappin Band.  The singer explained, “I chose Pyramid because of the professional work ethic and the visible success of the artistes that are associated with the company.”

Ruel Ward is at the helm of the organisation. He noted, “Pyramid is known for aligning itself with high calibre entertainers and working with Joaquin and Shea Shea  keeps in line with that mandate. The company has had the distinction of representing Party Monarch winners consecutively for the past four years of competition with Biggie Irie, Peter Ram and Lil Rick all capturing that top prize. In order to keep the company as a forerunner in the industry we believe that by creating the necessary business infrastructure for our talent we can ensure their long term sustainability and financial viability in the ever changing global music industry. He assured, “Our Company is being true to our slogan “Where music meets business.”   (ST)
